About Us
Sky Hunter Kennel
Since 1999, Aaron & I have trained and tested our German Shorthair
Pointers in the NAVHDA system within 2 local chapters; the Sebasticook
& Yankee Chapters of Maine. In addition to NAVHDA activities, we
regularly participate in AKC Hunt Tests throughout New England.
After our foundation dam, VC Huntin' Brooke's Challenge SH earned a
perfect score at out first NAVHDA Utility test & qualified for the 2002
Invitational. Brooke subsequently passed the Invitational & became a
Versatile Champion.
Since then, Brooke produced 2 beautiful litters. The first was sired by VC
Graf Vom Burkhart MH and earned a Natural Ability Breeder's Award.
We kept a male & female from that litter, Boss & Laci. The second litter
was sired by Int Ch VC Sharp Shooter's F-Five MH. This litter
performed very well in the Natural Ability testing.
Recently, we had the privilege of testing both Boss & Laci at the
NAVHDA Invitational in Ohio. Happily, both passed the test & are now
Versatile Champions!
Our dogs are not only competitors, their preferred function is as upland
hunting dogs. We have had the pleasure of hunting from Maine to
Montana - ruffed grouse, woodcock, sharptail grouse, and Hungarian
partridge. Our shorthairs also enjoy hunting in the duck blind for
waterfowl - they are all-around versatile hunting dogs!
Finally, our dogs are loving, loyal members of the family. They thrive as
family pets and desire to be close to you!
